GTA 6 release date effect because of the leak: It seems likely that Grand Theft Auto 6’s release date will be affected by the massive leak associated with the highly anticipated open-world sandbox game. If you somehow haven’t already heard, a substantial leak related to GTA 6 started making the rounds on the internet earlier today in the form of approximately 90 videos showing gameplay clips from an earlier version of the project. And while Rockstar has yet to publicly comment on this situation, the leak that came in the first place is probably not a good thing for those hoping to play the game. GTA 6 is Better sooner than later.
The reason why the GTA 6 release date could be affected by this leak is due to the nature of this reveal. Based on what we currently know, the leak appears to have come about due to a successful hacking attempt targeting Rockstar Games. The person in question who claims to have been the one behind this hack has even said that they have in their hands the source code of both GTA 6 and GTA 5.
Last year, CD Project Red was the victim of a cyber-attack that ended up delaying the studio’s plans for future updates and DLC with Cyberpunk 2077. Way back in 2003, Valve also had the Half-Life 2 source code stolen, leading to major turmoil within the studio and eventually legal action against the hacker behind the theft. Assuming these situations above reflect what might be happening now at Rockstar, it seems feasible that GTA 6 could be pushed further than previously thought.
It’s obviously worth emphasizing that Rockstar Games has never announced any sort of release date or release window for GTA 6 in the first place. However, based on previous rumors that have surfaced, it was said that a 2024 or 2025 release could be likely. Whether or not GTA 6 will release in this window remains to be seen, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated with this ongoing situation.
GTA 6 Leaked video content:
A large batch of Grand Theft Auto VI assets, including pre-alpha and multiplayer material, was released on the public forums early Sunday morning.
The assets were reportedly taken from Rockstar’s servers by a single hacker calling himself a “teapot hacker ” who also claims to have “GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets” as well as a “GTA test build.” 6»
The videos include footage of a heroine entering a strip club, which will be the first of its kind, as well as a male character firing what appears to be an AK-47 at passing police cars. In another video, both characters are seen working together while stealing dinner.
Leaks first appeared on GTAForums with the hacker allegedly looking for the source code for anything requested by other members. After the news spread through social media, the hacker updated his original post and instructed Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive employees to contact them via email as they were “looking to negotiate a deal.” ».
Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI was in active development back in February, in a late blog post on the company’s official website. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have officially commented on the leak at the time of this writing.
Over 90 videos appearing to show off GTA 6 gameplay have been leaked online, with the leaker also claiming to have the source code for Rockstar’s upcoming open-world game.
original story:
User “teapotuberhacker” posted a 3 GB file on the GTA forums that is said to contain gameplay videos from Grand Theft Auto 6. The leaker says that “more data may be leaked soon”, including the GTA 5 and GTA 6 source code, assets, and a test version of GTA 6.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Gameplay Leak Shows Vice City, Female Characters, Combat
While the leak has yet to be confirmed as genuine, there is a general consensus among social media users that the files contain genuine gameplay footage from GTA 6 builds from early 2019. One clip shows a character in a Vice City Metro train, while another shows a ‘Pegassi’ car, a brand of the vehicle found in previous Grand Theft Auto games. Other videos show a female playable character, fights, and parts of the open world of GTA 6. There are around eight minutes of footage in total.
If legit, the videos would support claims that GTA 6 will feature a playable female lead and that the open-world game is set in Vice City.
Earlier this year, Rockstar confirmed that development on “the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise” was underway. A few months later, Jason Schreier of Bloomberg reported that GTA 6 was at least two years away, but if the leak is true and Teapotuberhacker has the game’s source code, as they claim, it could potentially delay the game.
